What is Section 8 Housing?
Section 8 is a rent subsidy for low income families, the elderly and disabled. The program is provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development or better known as HUD. HUD provides funding to local public housing agencies which administer housing vouchers to people who qualify for the vouchers. A housing voucher provides a portion of the rent to be paid to the landlord.
